Identifying Features (Exterior)
Biscayne was the bottom of the 1969 Chevrolet full size models line up. Void of most trim and most often purchased without many of the standard options of Impala, it was the entry level car for 1969 full size Chevy's.

Biscayne had no side trim at all except for the same narrow chrome strip that ran the entire length of the rocker panels of the Impala. There was no chrome trim around the wheel well openings, no chrome trim whatsoever in any of the 4 tail lights. In addition to this Biscayne had no "Chevrolet" spelled out in individual letters across the front edge of the hood, but instead had a small "Chevrolet" script placed on the lower driver's side corner of the hood.

Only 4 tail lights filled the rear bumper of the Biscaynes, as having 6 was a distinction only reserved for Impala and later Caprice (which started in concept as a luxury option for Impala before it became its own model line). No hardtop models were available in the Biscayne line up.

Many Biscaynes spent their lives as police vehicles or taxi cabs, but some were ordered with one of the three 427 V-8's available making them stripped down "sleepers" - cars that looked plain and sedate, but were really some of the most powerful Chevy muscle on the streets in disguise, without the added weight of Impala or Caprice options to slow them down
